EVEN THE MARINER’S ARE BETTER THAN THEM!

Blog for 6/14/2021

Hi, This is Sam Hauser. Here are my thoughts for this week on the 2021 baseball season.

First, I want to talk about today’s standings:

American League — East: Tampa Bay is still ahead of Boston by 3 games. Boston is the only team in this division that has a chance. It was a four-team race, but now the 3rd place team is 7 games out of first.

American League — Central: Chicago White Sox are leading over Cleveland by 5½ games. It is my opinion that the other three teams in this division have no shot. Kansas City is 10½ games back and other two teams are 15 games back.

American League — West: Oakland A’s are still ahead of Astros by 2 games. Los Angeles Angels are out of first by 6 games, and took over the third place position from the Mariners. Mariners are 8 games back out of first.

National League- East: NY Mets still in the lead over the Phillies by 3 games.

National League- Central: There is now a 2-way tie between the Cubs and the Brewers. St. Louis is in 3rd place. This is a division that continually changes who is in first.

National League — West: Giants are still in first by 1 game over the Dodgers. The Dodgers are the best second place team for now in the National League.

My thoughts about the season so far is that I can’t believe that the Diamondbacks are now 20½ games out of first. Especially with having Bumgarner in their bullpen, I can’t figure that out. When he was with the Giants he was one of the best pitchers in the National League, especially in the post-season. They’ve allowed 80 more runs than they have scored. The Mariners have allowed 62 more than they scored, so even the Mariners are doing better than the Diamondbacks!

That’s all for now.
